A fresh take on the spring staple, learn how to make your pastels pop this season with Boots Beauty Specialist, Leanna Zaman
Make a rainbow
Tone it down by picking shades in the same family or amp it up with colours that stand out. "Multitonal pastels are made wearable with defined lashes and a soft blush and lip," says Boots beauty specialist, Leanna Zaman.
Nail it down
"I know from the customers that come into my store that a lot of colour can feel scary for some. If you’re nervous about wearing it on your face, the easy solution is to go for a bold pastel nail look," recommends Leanna.
Colour clash
"Clashing colours makes a real statement," says Leanna. "I love this lilac and coral combo. When you’re wearing two sets of colour – like this – you have to make your base really soft and flawless, so the pastel shades can pop."
Colour outside the lines
"This is a really good way to experiment," says Leanna. "Eye looks like this are perfect for festival season. However, you can also take this into every day by controlling the placement of the lines and the colours you use."

Our Boots Beauty Specialist Leanna Zaman gives us the lowdown on what it’s really like being at the forefront of Boots beauty.
"I’ve always had a creative side. When I was younger, I had a passion for art and studied it into my late teenage years. I found it gave me peace – it felt like my safe space. Make-up means I can take my creativity into everyday use and not just on a canvas – it’s definitely still my safe space!
My love for make-up led me to working on counters for various brands, until it brought me to Boots Covent Garden, which has now been my home for the last three and a half years. Being a Boots Beauty Specialist is incredible – you get to be completely unbiased and talk about all things beauty all day to your customers. We also get a lot of support and training from all the brands we look after at Boots.
I’ve had a lot of opportunities I never imagined I’d have a few years ago. Working on this shoot alongside the make-up artist, Eoin, was so inspiring and I loved planning and checking the looks with Health & Beauty's Senior Editor Jo and helping the Art Director Dan select the images.
From time to time, you’ll see my face across the social channels for Boots UK, which is always a pinch-me moment. Most recently, I’ve been using my artistry skills at some PR events Boots has hosted. And in January, I was taken out to South Africa to the Love Island All Stars Villa to do the Islanders make-up! If you’re thinking of becoming a Boots Beauty Specialist, be confident, be passionate and trust in your skills."
