Give your hair some TLC
From frizziness in humid weather to protecting your hair, make sure to give your tresses some extra love this summer to help avoid any damage.
Sun, sea & hair protection
While a sunny day spent in the ocean or pool is bliss for the soul, it can wreak havoc on your locks.
UV rays, seawater and chlorine can dry out hair, leaving it brittle and tricky to manage. Plus, if you have dyed, bleached or damaged hair, your hair is more susceptible too.
Luckily, there are ways you can help prevent any damage:
- Incorporate a heat protectant for UV rays into your routine
- Avoid getting sea water or chlorine in your hair; if you do, make sure to wash your hair afterwards
You can also protect your hair on beach or pool days by applying a hair mask or treatment. To do this, wet your hair and apply your favourite conditioner or hair mask. Comb the product from root to tip, before braiding your hair or tying it into a ponytail or bun.
For defence against UV rays

French skincare icon NUXE have turned their sights to hair suncare with this gorgeously scented heat protectant. Simply mist and brush into the hair to help protect tresses from UV rays, salt and chlorine, while adding a burst of moisturising shine.
For seawater & chlorine protection
Try: Phillip Kingsley Swimcap Water-Resistant Mask
• Size: 100ml
Developed with the US Olympics Synchronised Swimming Team, this conditioning treatment is perfect for protecting your hair in sea and chlorinated water. Plus, this treatment creates a protective shield over the hair, helping avoid bleached or dyed locks turning green!
Say goodbye to frizzy hair
Does your hair puff up like a certain sitcom star during humid weather? While you can’t fully stop frizziness during humidity, there are some hacks to help make your tresses more manageable:
- Use an anti-frizz serum or leave-in conditioner to help smooth hair
- Avoid high temperatures on hot styling tools, and always, always, always use heat protectant
- Incorporate humidity-friendly hairstyles, like plaits, buns and ponytails
- Use hydrating shampoos and conditioners to give your hair a moisture boost, making it less likely to frizz up in humidity
For ultimate shine
Try: L’Oréal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Leave-In Serum
• Size: 150ml
Whether you have straight, wavy or curly hair, this leave-in serum makes dreamy, super-shiny hair a reality. The 14% gloss complex with glycolic acid leaves hair strands shinier, smoother and frizz-free. Why not team this up with the rest of the Gylcolic Gloss range?
Test out lighter make-up
Warmer weather can cause make-up to run – especially if you break a sweat – so switching your usual foundation for a lighter formula is key for the summer months.
CC and BB creams both give a light wash of coverage with skincare benefits, while giving your skin a breather, too. You could also opt for a tinted moisturiser – or, if you have a fave moisturiser, why not add some bronzing drops for some sheer coverage?
For coverage with skincare benefits

Master your summer everything shower
The best accessory for your summer wardrobe? Nourished skin, of course! Level up your everything shower during the summer months with our top tips:
- Moisturise every day – after showering, while your skin is still damp, apply your fave body lotion to lock in all of that everything shower goodness
- Invest in a body brush – skincare pros recommend body brushing for glowing skin. Before showering, gently brush your body, brushing towards your heart
- Add your body oil to your bath to help dial up your skin’s radiance
- Keep your skin hydrated from within by drinking six to eight glasses of water a day
- Make sure to apply SPF daily; glowing skin is sun-protected skin, of course! Reapply throughout the day, especially if you’ve been in water or exercising

For super-smooth skin

For sandal-ready feet
After months of hiding away in socks and shoes, are your feet feeling dry and scaly? You’re not alone. And, thankfully, a little at-home pamper sesh can help revive them, just in time for sandal season.
Our top tip? Exfoliate and moisturise your feet just before bed, and wear socks overnight. That way, your feet can soak up all that moisture!
